Innovative and effective, Microchanneling activates cellular regeneration to help tighten and lift skin, while minimizing common skin problems such as acne scars, fine lines, photo-aging, dull skin, poor texture, stretch marks and body scars.
What Is Microchanneling?
Microchanneling (a.k.a. micro-needling, or automated micro-needling) is a method of introducing hundreds of tiny channels or controlled wounds into the skin triggering a release of natural growth factors, new collagen & elastin.
This process causes much less damage to the epidermis than dermal rolling or lasers and other ablative treatments, which helps to protect the new skin cell growth providing for quicker healing and a much higher success rate for overall and longer lasting results.
We pretreat your skin with LIVRA, a revolutionary serum filled with growth factors. The microchanneling device creates hundreds of tiny channels into your skin, increasing absorption of the growth factors by 300%! Then the unique stem-cell based serums go to work, feeding your skin with powerful growth factors that encourage your skin cells to revitalize themselves. The results are unlike anything you’ve seen before!
How Is The
A sterile needle-face containing tiny micro-needles is attached to the Microchannel. Your skincare professional will apply a thin layer of topical growth serum to your skin and select the appropriate treatment depth based on your unique needs.
Then, the Microchannel is stamped or tapped across your face, creating hundreds
of tiny channels through which the serum is absorbed into your skin. Because the microchannel is stamped on our face instead of dragged, the only injuries are the microchannels created by the needles. The procedure is virtually painless even without numbing creams. And there is no downtime. You can go back to work or out for the evening right after the treatment.
Microchanneling is the latest innovation in aesthetic medicine for the treatment of fine lines, acne scars and improvement of the skin’s overall appearance. During this procedure, tiny needles are used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin in order to produce collagen and elastin.
The skin’s repair process results in a thicker dermis with the appearance of softer wrinkles. The procedure creates superficial micro-channels which allow growth serums to be absorbed more effectively into the skin.
When coupled with the LIVRA Procell growth serums, a single microchanneling service is as effective in combating the visible signs of aging as a PRP facial.
How Is This
Different From Lasers?
When used correctly resurfacing lasers can be a great tool for treating aging skin. However, lasers use focused light to produce heat that destroys certain colors of pigment and vaporizes skin.
This is great for targeting dark spots but often leads to complications when treating patients with naturally darker skin. Microchannleing breaks up pigment mechanically and remodels the collagen without heat or light. When the heat is removed from the process, it makes for a much safer, more comfortable, more consistent treatment. No heat also equals less downtime!
Most Microchanneling patients have a healthy pink glow immediately after the procedure, which lessens dramatically within 24 hours or less. Most patients are back to work the same day and out to dinner the same evening, experiencing little to no down time.
How is Microchanneling Different From The Dermal Needling Rollers, Skin Pens and Collagen PINs Of The Past?
Micro-needling, collagen PIN and derma rollers are the previous generation of needling devices. One of the many drawbacks is that dermal rollers have a fixed needle or penetration depth (i.e. 0.5mm) which is not very conducive when treating an area like the face which requires different depths due to the thickness of skin tissue, which varies in depth tremendously depending on the area being treated. Therefore, having a fixed needle depth or penetration level is a huge drawback when trying to customize a treatment for consistency.
Collagen PINs, Skin Pens and other microneedling devices have such a small pin surface, they have to be dragged across the face, creating micro-tears as the needle drags through the skin. This additional damage is not necessary to increase collagen and elastin production and is also the primary cause of the lengthy recovery (4-7 days) from the procedure.
Because the microchannel needles are stamped across the skin instead of dragged, only the tiny microchannels into the skin from the needles are created. There is no unnecessary skin damage, completely eliminating downtime for recovery.
